The FDA works closely with a network of professional football clubs. The FDA adhere to the guidelines which were introduced by the FA via the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) in a bid to increase the number of home-grown English players within professional football clubs infrastructures. In line with the EPPP, the FDA scout young players up to the age of 16 years old who have been identified as having the ability/talent to play at a professional football club. The FDA provides young players with the opportunity to attend football trials at professional football club academies.
